EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF B.U. LAW SCHOOL  ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WELCOMES BENNETT

PORTLAND, MAINE -  Peter Bennett, attorney and managing partner of The Bennett Law Firm, P.A. based in Portland, was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the Boston University Law School Alumni Association. Bennett will be serving in his new capacity for a three-year term. 
 
Ronald Cass, Dean of Boston University's School of Law, stated that Bennett "continues to be a respected citizen of B.U.'s law school community, giving his time and counsel to the kinds of important issues that keep us institutionally sound as well as competitive with other outstanding law schools." 
 
Peter Bennett graduated from Harvard University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1985, he received his law degree and Masters in Business Administration from Boston University. Bennett  is a faculty member of the University of Southern Maine Department of Continuing Education for Business. 

He is a member of several professional and community organizations, including the Maine State and American Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute, the Maine Trial Lawyer's Association, and is the President of the Board of Directors for St. Joseph's Manor in Portland. He has been admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. 

He has authored several articles and legal reviews and is a contributing author to the 1998 edition of Guide to Equal Employment Practices. Peter has edited several books for the American Bar Association Legal Review. 
 
The Bennett Law Firm, P.A., formerly Bennett & Associates, was founded in 1960 by Herbert H. Bennett. The firm specializes in a wide range of employment, labor law and tax issues on behalf of management through New England. Services include prevention of unionization, employment conflict resolution, collective bargaining and defense of wrongful discharge lawsuits.  The firm also handles commercial, civil, environmental and banking litigation.
