PORTLAND, MAINE ATTORNEY PETER BENNETT SPOKE AT THE AMERICAN BAR
ASSOCIATION’S SECTION OFFICERS CONFERENCE HELD IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- PETER BENNETT, a Portland, Maine attorney spoke
at the American Bar Association’s Section Officers Conference held
in Chicago, Illinois from September 9 to September 11, 2004. Bennett
is the Secretary of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section
of the American Bar Association, one of the Association’s oldest
and largest Sections having a membership of nearly 35,000. The Section
Officers Conference is comprised of all officers of the various
substantive law sections making up the American Bar Association,
itself the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bennett
addressed the group concerning the duties of a Secretary as well
as the obligations of an officer to an organization.
Bennett is President of The Bennett Law Firm, a Portland, Maine
firm which specializes in representing management throughout the
Northeast on matters of labor and employment law. He has written
and lectured extensively on employment law issues, and was the lead
defense counsel in several ground breaking cases dealing with employee
disability triggered misconduct. He is also a Vice President and
Director of the International Society of Primerus Law Firms and
Immediate Past President of the Boston University School of Law
Alumni Association.
