The Bennett Law Firm announces with pleasure that Pawel Binczyk has joined the firm as an associate attorney in its Portland office.
Pawel graduated from Amherst College, earning a B.A., cum laude, in English. Thereafter, he attended The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law where he earned his J.D., cum laude, served on the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy as well as the National Trial Team, and was a recipient of the Michael F. Curtin Pro Bono Award.
Pawel’s law career began in the United States Army, where he still holds the rank of Major. Pawel practiced law as a Judge Advocate for six years in the U.S. Army JAG Corps, gaining extensive experience in litigation, national security, and international law. He litigated cases both domestically and internationally, serving prosecution and defense roles, and trying more than 50 felony cases to verdict. Pawel continues to serve our nation part-time as a uniformed general counsel for the Maine Army National Guard’s 52nd Troop Command.
Immediately prior to joining The Bennett Law Firm, Pawel practiced civil litigation with the Boston law firm, Boyle Shaughnessy, and gained extensive experience in a range of commercial, trucking, education, employment, malpractice and injury lawsuits.
Regarding the addition of Pawel to the firm, Peter Bennett stated, “It is pretty rare in this age of the vanishing jury trial to find an attorney with Pawel’s trial experience and ability to navigate a courtroom. He brings a welcome dimension to our trial practice and one that will be of benefit to our clients.”
Pawel enjoys living in Maine with his wife and two children. A New Englander at heart, he is building a sailing canoe in his spare time and is looking forward to enjoying the fruits of his labor on Casco Bay next spring.
